The magic of mosaic tiles

28th January 2015

There are a myriad of practical and fun uses for mosaic tiles, which is why they have been around for thousands of years and show no signs of waning in popularity.

Versatility can be key when it comes to tiling, especially if you only want to tile a small space, which is where mosaic tiling can come into its own. A splashback, the underside of a shelf or in an alcove all lend themselves to mosaic tiles, making a feature out of an under-utilised area.

Or, they can make a bold statement on a larger wall, with mosaic tiles adding a dramatic splash of colour and texture to a space. They are surprisingly hard-wearing, enabling them to be used all across the house, be it in a kitchen, bathroom or even a conservatory.

Plus, they are easier to apply than they look. You don’t need to fit each mosaic tile individually, because they are supplied on a sheet of mesh netting, which ensures they stay straight and removes the need for spacers. They can be fixed to flat or curved surfaces, making mosaic tiles an ideal medium for tricky spots.

You can even use them to let out some of your own creativity, to produce a design by mixing and matching sheets to make a larger display. There really is no end to the benefits of mosaic tiles.
