Ceramic Tile Merchants were delighted to be shortlisted for the TTA Award for Best Use of Tile in the Leisure or Hospitality Industry, for their refurbishment of a new premises for a popular chain of Mexican restaurants.
Working alongside a local design company, we supplied tile samples to match the design brief of creating an ‘urban look and distressed wood look and feel’ in the initial part of the design process.
The chosen tiles were a combination of colours and textures, creating a fresh and dynamic look, reflecting the atmosphere of this new exciting restaurant.
For the walls it was a stunning mix of a lime green scored tile and a driftwood plank. The colour of the green glaze is deep and vibrant and is partnered in the interior wall space by the mellow woodgrain of the retro plank.
The floor is divided into specific zones using a traditional terracotta look tile and a grey urban concrete large format floor tile. The products chosen are a unique combination of the earthy feel of natural terracotta adjacent to the sharp clean aspect of modern concrete. The final result is a fun space in which you can catch up with friends for the Tex-Mex cuisine experience.
Following the success of this project, the tiles specified are now included on the specifier list for the brand in question, and are continually being installed as the roll-out of the stores continue across the UK.
